Operators and companies will have a two-year grace period, until January 1, 2024, to ensure any person operating a concrete pump holds a valid operator’s certificate, issued by an approved certification authority for the class or type of concrete pump or placing boom they operate. After January 1, 2024, until fully certified, operators can operate the concrete pump or placing boom under the supervision of a person who holds a valid concrete pump operator’s certificate for the class or type of concrete pump or placing boom being operated.

The Certified Concrete Pump Operator (CCPO) program provides BC concrete pump operators, owners, and the construction industry with a regulated, safe, and effective means to determine operator competence and increase safety on site.
